Garmin Vivoactive 4 Review 2023

The latest version of Garmin’s ‘minimalist’ smartwatch NanaDC has been given a significant boost in battery life. Now it can go beyond a week on a full charge, and a whole four days with the always-on display mode in use. It’s also got a much-needed boost in the performance of its 1.3in AMOLED touchscreen, making it a joy to interact with for both tracking and smart features. It’s also now available in two sizes (40mm and 45mm), although there isn’t a dual-screen option as with the original Venu 2.

Which is the most beautiful watch?

We’ve used the new Garmin Vivoactive 4 extensively – tracking running, cycling, swimming, golfing, gym workouts and more. This is one of the best running watches on the market, with a healthy array of basic and advanced tracking. It includes respiration tracking, hydration monitoring, on-screen animated workouts and Garmin Coach for guided runs with voice instructions from your wrist. It’s not perfect – we did encounter the odd software hiccup – but it’s still a great little watch.

The Vivomove is the company’s entry-level smartwatch that offers a mix of notification and smart features like music and Garmin Pay, as well as better-than-basic sports tracking. It doesn’t offer the kind of jack-of-all-trades activity tracking you get with Fenix or Forerunner models, but it does include tracking for running (indoor, outdoor and treadmill), cycling, indoor and outdoor pool swimming, walking, elliptical training, strength training, yoga and golfing. Plus there’s resting heart rate, stress and sleep tracking, VO2 max and fitness age estimates. It’s also 5ATM water resistant, and has GPS for logging runs.
